When a screen cover is between the lamp and your pet, it will provide UVB from 8-36” distance. When no screen cover is used, UVB will be provided from 9-40” away from the lamp. (please see figure A for proper distances for a wide variety of species) How long is it guaranteed to work? How long before it stops emitting UVB? The ReptiSun UVB/LED is covered by a 1 year manufacturer’s guarantee. When used 12 hours per day, the UVB chips can last up to 4 years until they decay to 50% output.
